This is my 379th blog and this is the end. I hope you have enjoyed the activities with your family and inspired a passion for learning, problem solving, and math.
I had set a goal of writing this blog for 1 year and it is time for my last ‘playful’ idea. This last idea is to introduce your child to the concept of infinity, the theoretical largest number at the end of the number line.
Ask your child, What is the largest number? The answer is, infinity.
Beginning: Tell your child about infinity. If you have the children’s book, Guess How Much I Love you, you can change the ending by adding ‘I love you to infinity’.
Developing: Show your child the symbol for infinity (see below). Read the book and add pages to the story.
Enrichment: Tell your own version of the book, taking turns with your child. Start small and end with infinity.
